1.2nd Electrical Officer

Is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the electrical plant and associated electrical systems. And work with the electrical team together and independently. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of electrical and electronic systems as directed by the Chief Electrical Engineer.
  • Must be familiar with standard electrical safety routines.
  • Must be familiar with both High and Low Voltage electrical distribution systems. 
  • Assist with in the Electrical team for repairs on, but not limited to: Power distribution systems (such as UPS/Inverter systems, EL Substations etc), Internal communication systems (such as Telephone, PA systems), Safety systems (such as repairs on Fire Detection, Fire Door and Water Tight Door Control and Indication System), Engine Room electrical systems (Such as IAMCS, Pump Starters etc), Hotel systems (such as Elevators, Light systems etc).
  • Assist IT with external communications when needed.
  • Always inform the Duty Engineer before electrical work is started, and ensure they are aware of what systems will be affected.
  • To be familiar with and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to their position.

Qualifications

  • Has completed Schooling as a Ship’s Electrician, or Electrical Engineer 
  • Prior work experience with SBN preferred
  • 2-3 years Sea-going electrical engineer or Electronic Engineer experience
  • Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (STCW Regulation VI/2) (Valid 5 yrs)
  • Security Awareness (STCW Section A-VI/6)
  • Basic Safety Training (STCW Section A-VI/1-4)
  • High Voltage Management Level (STCW Reg. III/ 2&3) ** req. from Jan 1, 2017
  • Safety Familiarization and Crowd Management (STCW A-V/3)

2. Asst Baker – Indonesia

Job Description

Directs and supervises the activities of team members engaged in the preparation of bakery products for guests and crew following the guidelines and manuals established by the corporate office. The Assistant Baker reports directly to the Baker/Executive Pastry Chef. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of all bakery products made and served on board in accordance with the Marine Hotel Department’s menus and recipes.
  • Is actively involved in daily bakery.
  • Responsible for the performance, appearances, dress and personal conduct, including time keeping.
  • Responsible for building and maintaining a team atmosphere in the department.
  • Responsible for the proper handling of equipment and utensils to prevent loss, damage or undue maintenance.
  • Reports any malfunctioning equipment to the Baker/Executive Pastry Chef.
  • Assisting Baker for controlling the bakery food cost by developing cost effective procedures and monitoring over production.
  • Conduct daily cleaning inspection and general cleaning inspection of his complete working area.
  • Directly responsible for implementing and executing food handling and cleaning procedure in accordance with USPH standards in the bakery shop as outlined in the Safe Food Handling Manual and cleaning specifications guide.
  • Responsible for checking that quantity and quality of items ordered from stores are received and stored in proper condition according to USPH procedures and thereafter used in the proper way according to standard recipes.
  • To be familiar with and execute the Seabourn HESS-MS appropriate to their position.

Qualifications

  • Certification from accredited advanced food safety program. Extensive knowledge in VSP preferred.
  • Degree from accredited culinary college or university bakery program.
  • Ability to effectively read, write and speak English.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a 5-star+ hotel, cruise ship or high-profile restaurant performing the functions of a similar position.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a same position preferably in a multi-nationality setting with a proven ability to provide orientation and training.
  • Experience in high volume operation of at least 500 meals per service.

Physical Demands & Travel

  • For the safety of yourself and others on board certain physical abilities shall be maintained. Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motion, and repetitively heavy lift. 
  • Must maintain physical fitness to perform tasks associated with job. 

Travel Requirements

  • Passport – valid for a minimum of 6 month
  • Flag state issued seaman book
  • General flag state or flag state approved marine fitness medical United States C1/D visa
  • English Marlin test at minimal score of 80%

3. Asst Butcher -Thailand

The Assistant Butcher reports directly to the Butcher and is supported by the Executive Chef de Cuisine.

Job Description

The Assistant Butcher plays a vital part ensuring that all products received are executed to a high quality. They are also responsible for maintaining the cost management and preventing waste. Any decision made should be communicated with the butcher and discrepancies hi- lighted to establish solutions to achieve food costs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of all butchery products made and served on board in accordance with daily menus and recipes.
  • Is involved in daily butchery activities – supporting main butcher, poultry and orders.
  • Responsible for their own performance, appearance, dress and personal conducts, including time keeping and reports on these subjects objectively and timely to the Butcher.
  • Responsible to assist in checking that quantity and quality of items ordered from stores are received and stored in proper condition and thereafter used in the proper way according to standard recipes.
  • Works closely and cooperates with the team in order to achieve the highest possible guest satisfaction from the products served. Communicates directly with the Butcher concerning all butchery shop matters
  • Responsible for assisting in controlling the butchery food cost by helping with cost effective procedures and monitoring over production and waste under the Butcher’s supervision. Troubleshooting skills, basic repair skills, and ability to strip cables, crimp connectors and soldering
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Directly responsible for assisting with executing food handling and cleaning procedure in accordance with USPH standards in the butchery shop as outlined in the Safe Food Handling Manual and cleaning specifications guide.
  • Assist with conducting daily cleaning and general cleaning of his complete working area.
  • Responsible for the proper handling of equipment and utensils to prevent loss, damage or undue maintenance.

  • 2+ years’ experience in a 5-star+ hotel, cruise ship or high-profile butchery shop performing the functions of a similar position.
  • Experience in high volume operation of at least 500 meals per service.
  • Extensive kitchen machinery and knife safety knowledge.
