Requirements
- Have production experience with several programming languages. We mostly use PHP and JavaScript at Automattic – you should either be familiar with them already or the idea of using them on a daily basis should not be a blocker for you.
- Have experience working on a large-scale system. Making it faster, more scalable, and fault-tolerant.
- Know about systems architecture.
- Are highly collaborative and you love participating in code reviews and discussions about architecture, or design.
- Are passionate about and experienced in software development; in particular, advanced PHP knowledge is a plus.
- Are knowledgeable about design patterns and testability; having experience with testing frameworks, performance testing and unit testing is very welcome.
- Are thoughtful about product design, with good user experience instincts.
- Are open and able to travel 3-4 weeks per year to meet up with your teammates in person.
- WordPress programming experience.
- Open source contributions or contributions to programs designed to help underrepresented people enter the tech field.
- Experience working on accessibility.
- Familiarity with JavaScript.
- Data analysis experience, and understanding of how analytics can help with product decisions.
- Knowledge of tooling and build systems.

2.Senior Designer

Responsibilities
- Design exceptional WordPress websites and themes for multiple clients, events and Automattic products.
- Iterate actively on designs at all levels of fidelity, from wireframes to mockups to site builds, informed by project scope, client strategy and business goals.
- Communicate and share often in written, verbal and visual forms (including client calls) to create alignment and move the work toward implementation.
- Collaborate regularly with engineers to QA and launch high quality experiences.
- Contribute to both Automattic products (via feedback) and the larger open source and design communities.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of modern website design and theming considerations. Knowledge of WordPress block themes and Gutenberg is a huge bonus.
- Past work experience that is relevant for Automattic: remote work, WordPress, e-commerce, site editors, etc.
- A keenness for identifying user needs, defining clear solutions, and delivering those through detailed design.
- The flexibility to design in low and high fidelity and choose the most efficient and responsible process for the job at hand.
- The ability to integrate feedback, validate, and iterate on designs while being mindful of our customers, contributors, and insights gleaned by our support teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills—you’ll collaborate with others and present your work regularly in a written format.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (we use Figma) and familiarity with website development cycles.
- Strong UI and visual design skills with a portfolio showcasing your craft in both written and visual form.

3. Strategic Finance Manager, WooCommerce
Location: Remote (North American Time Zone)
Reports to: CFO, WooCommerce
Responsibilities
- Oversee the creation of reporting packages to provide WooCommerce leadership with timely and informative results, and provide guidance on actionable recommendations.
- Organize and conduct management reviews on a regular cadence to drive decisions and actions.
- Work closely with key business functions to capture the financial impact of decisions, ensuring seamless integration into the forecast model.
- Provide support and analysis on potential partnerships, acquisitions, and growth initiatives, including standard financial models and metrics for financial analysis and assessment.
- Track KPI shifts, analyze root causes, and deliver clear insights to stakeholders.
- Conduct proactive industry and product research to support strategic decisions and analysis.
- Lead the development and monitoring of key operational metrics, driving waste reduction and process improvements to enhance productivity and efficiency across the business unit.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience working in corporate or business unit financial operations with demonstrated success in a high-growth, constantly evolving environment.
- Extensive experience with FP&A at both corporate and business unit levels, including annual planning, performance analysis and use of data to drive decisions.
- Ability to recommend, influence, develop, and implement programs that improve competitive positioning and profitability.
- Strong business and operational acumen and proven track record of close partnership with senior leadership.
- Experience creating business cases that guide strategic investments.
- Experience in SaaS/Software and an understanding of how to forecast and monitor different types of revenue and costs.
- Knowledge of SMB, commerce, or fintech preferred.
- A strong technical understanding of the online payments industry including commercial terms, cost structures, and fees, is a plus.
- Online payments experience across multiple countries, specifically those in North America and Europe is a plus.

4. Marketing Operations Manager
Responsibilities
- Marketing Technology Management: Manage and optimize marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and other marketing technologies to support campaign execution, lead management, and reporting.
- Campaign Execution: Collaborate with marketing stakeholders to execute and deploy automation related to email marketing campaigns, lead nurturing workflows, and other marketing initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Analyze marketing performance data to assess campaign effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend optimization strategies.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve marketing processes, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Reporting and Dashboards: Develop and maintain marketing performance dashboards and reports to provide insights into key metrics and KPIs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and product development to ensure alignment and integration of marketing initiatives with broader business objectives.
- Training and Enablement: Provide training and support to marketing teams on marketing technologies, best practices and processes.
Requirements
- 1-5 years of experience in marketing operations, marketing automation, business development, sales, or related roles.
- Proficiency in marketing automation platforms such as HubSpot.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Outreach, Zoominfo, and/or Outreach.io.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS and basic coding skills is a plus.
