If you are a beginner don’t worry you can apply and if your application is successful, you will be guided through training by their recruitment team.

Payment &How To Join

  • They pay transcriptionists between $0.45 and $1.73 per audio minute therefore, you can expect to earn between $27 and $103.8 per audio hour however, note that the exact amount of money you receive depends on the type of work you transcribe and its urgency.
  • For you to qualify to work at Way With Words, you’ll be required to pass their assessment after which you can work depending on your flexibility.
  • When it comes to payment, you will be paid monthly directly into your PayPal account.

2. Rev

The company hires beginner transcriptionists. The company hires transcriptionists from Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States, excluding California because of the Independent Contractor law which requires freelancers to be hired as employees.

Scribie is known as one of the lower-paying transcription companies and their transcription test is fairly easy. The best thing is that there is no limit on the number of transcription files you can submit per day and you have the freedom to choose from among the available audio or video files on their website.

Payment

  • They pay transcriptionists between $5 and $25 per audio hour
  • You also get a monthly bonus of $5 for every 3 hours completed. Their files are usually 10 minutes long or less with a 2-hour TAT (turnaround time) for each file.

Application Process

  • To get access to transcription jobs, you’ll need to register on the platform and take a transcription test.
  • Remember to keep the application number that will be given so that you can track the progress of your application.
  • Your application will then be reviewed as quickly as 24 hours. Once accepted, you will receive an email invitation to take the test.
  • The final step is certification and incase one gets rejected, don’t panic apply again however, keep in mind that every applicant is given up to a maximum of ten attempts.

  • If you fail the test, don’t worry, you have unlimited tries until you pass it. Do not create multiple accounts.
  • You can earn up to $0.60 per audio minute.

6. CastingWords.

CastingWords is a good transcription company that offers training as you work your way up. To work with CastingWords, you’ll first need to sign up for an account and take a transcription test. No transcription experience is required for this, but you must have excellent English skills and pass their transcription test.

Their transcription jobs are graded on a scale of 0 to 9, with 0 being poor and 9 being excellent. Only the transcription jobs that receive a grade of 7 or more are accepted. If you get a 9 on a job, you’ll be promoted to the next level where you can access more transcription jobs and higher-paying jobs. If your work doesn’t receive a high grade, you’ll be fired.

Tests & Payment

Rates may vary depending on the type of transcription, the number of speakers and the quality of the audio. You will either be paid per audio minute or per line depending on the type of file and client.

8. Pacific Transcription

Pacific Transcription is the Australasian branch of the global Pacific Solutions network. This company services clients in all major Australian cities and across the globe.

This company is constantly in search of transcription stars to become part of their ever-growing team. To become a transcriptionist for 3Play Media, you will answer a series of questions and you will be required to transcribe a sample audio or video file that is roughly around 3 minutes long. This will be typed inside a box on their website. Results of the assessments will be sent to you within three weeks

Transcriptionists under the company earn $10 to $25 per hour.
