Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of meals according to company recipes and standards.
  • Adhering to daily production schedules.
  • Demonstrating an ongoing understanding of ingredient consumption required for daily production to minimize food waste.
  • Ensuring commitment to safety and compliance with international regulations and company standards.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:
  • Experience: At least 1 to 2 years of prior work experience in a culinary environment as Commis Chef or similar roles.
  • Education: Culinary-related education (preferred).
  • Skills: Knowledge of basic food preparation, presentation, and preservation. Basic knowledge of public health, food safety, and sanitation regulations and procedures. Ability to organize and complete work by deadlines. Good English language skills, both verbal and written.

2.Junior Host-UPL

The responsibility of the junior host is to guarantee that guests have a once in a lifetime experience every time. Positioned in the main dining room, specialty restaurant, and lido buffet, the Junior Host ensures smooth operations across these venues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Aid the restaurant host, restaurant operations manager & Maître D’ in handling reservations on embarkation day.
  •  Assisting guests with reservations, menu presentation, and engaging in warm light conversation
  • Lead and guide guests through the restaurant to their dining tables.
  • Monitor and provide timely assistance to any team requiring immediate support to provide seamless guest experience.
  • Periodically visit guest tables to gather feedback & share insights with the management team.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • 1 year + experience in a 5-star hotel or similar establishment 
  • Teamwork, collaboration and problem-solving ability 
  • Intermediate skills using computerized reservation or table management systems.
  • Advanced level English verbal and writing skills 
  • A college degree in hospitality is preferred.

3. Housekeeping Attendant – UPL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and supply all assigned areas in accordance with current housekeeping procedures and standards.
  • Maintain all housekeeping equipment and cleaning tools in good working order during assigned cleaning duties.
  • Return equipment in clean condition to the designated area after use. Some equipment may require sanitizing.
  • Collect guest luggage for disembarkation and distribute embarking luggage with care.
  • If assigned, clean and service petty officer cabins.
  • Provide laundry pick-up and delivery service if required.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of cabins, locker, pantry, steward station, and corridors within the assigned section.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise:

  • High school graduate or higher.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in housekeeping department or cleaning service, which includes job training.
  • Able to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Must pass the Marlin test and meet HAL’s SPEACS requirements for this function. (Currently Elementary with a required score of 60).
  • Age between 21-35 years old.
  • Minimum height of 160 cm.

The Tailor will  play an integral role in providing the guests and crew with a service and should focus on effectively maintaining the tailor shop and following procedures in order to receive guest satisfaction

Physical Demands & Travel Requirements:

  • Must be able to bend, climb, perform repetitive motions, and lift heavy items repetitively.
  • Maintain physical fitness to perform job-related tasks.
  • Valid passport with a minimum of 6 months validity.
  • Flag state-issued seaman book.
  • General flag state or flag state-approved marine fitness medical.
  • United States C1/D visa.
  • English Marlin test with a minimal score of 80%.
  • Pre-employment medical examination.

Working Conditions:

  • Working on a cruise ship requires flexibility with working hours, which may change due to unforeseen circumstances, regulated by the Maritime Labour Convention of 2006.
  • Adherence to the Master’s standing orders and ship’s company rules is essential.
  • Close proximity working environment demands mutual respect among all crewmembers.
  • Working hours are longer and more intense due to the constant demand of the guests.
